We love to have parent/family champions that help us keep our teachers in the classrooms and support us through conquering tasks, chaperoning, and organizing other volunteers in tackling school projects. Please review ongoing opportunities in our weekly newsletter Family Engagement Matters.

Safety Patrol Volunteers
In our continuing efforts to keep all students safe during morning drop off, the Operations Team is requesting 3 parent volunteers to help direct the flow of student and vehicle traffic each morning.

First Friday Parent Coffee
Join us for our First Friday Parent Coffees! Our coffees are held at ASA, but are hosted by a different family each month. The Parent Coffees provide a great opportunity to connect with other parents, discuss upcoming events, share ideas, meet our ASA Board Members, or listen to guest speakers. Feel free to stop by for just a few minutes or stay the whole time!

Sign up to host one of our Parent Coffees. As host, you are responsible for providing 2-3 coffee travelers with all the fixings. You can team up with a friend or another couple of parents. For more information and to sign up click HERE.

Middle School Orchestra Festival

The String Foundations 2 Orchestra is going to the Middle School Orchestra Festival on Wednesday, February 27th. We are looking for 1 (or possibly 2) parents with large capacity vehicles to help us transport instruments to Queen Creek High School, 22149 E Ocotillo Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142.

Parents would need to arrive at the ASA North Parking lot by 9:45am, so that we can safely load instruments. We would depart ASA no later than 10:05. Students would then watch orchestras from other schools, then warm-up, perform and participate in a clinic. We would depart Queen Creek High School around 2pm. (The school is about 40 miles from ASA and the trip should be about 50-60 minutes)

Side benefit – parents would get to watch the students perform!

Coffee Break Concert

String Foundations 1 and 2 will be hosting their annual coffee break concert on ASA campus in the Bandshell on February 28th at 11:00 am.  We will need parents to volunteer to bring a few treats, drinks, and to sign-in concert guests.  Volunteers can arrive approximately 10:40am to set-up.

Hello Cast, Crew, and Parents of ASA’s production of HONK JR! Performances begin soon, and we need your help to make the show a success. The following contains information for all Volunteer Opportunities for HONK JR.

Meals and Water Needed: Lunches or Dinners for 10-30 people are needed February 22 – March 3; see SignUp Genius for dates/times). Please plan a variety that preferably does not include pizza. Salads and vegetarian options are appreciated. You can sign up to bring just a portion of the meal, or you can provide side, entrée, and dessert all together. Please do not bring juice or soda; instead, gallons of water are requested as students will have reusable water bottles.

Backstage Volunteers are also needed for each performance. Parents volunteers are asked to be present backstage to be ‘extra eyes and ears’ during the performances. Please also use the SignUp Genius platform to volunteer.

Location:  The Kax, Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe, Phoenix AZ 85004.   The STAGE DOOR is on the southeast corner of the intersection of 2nd St. and Van Buren. The Box Office is on the Monroe side.
