Help ASA Recruit!Next year we will be adding 5th grade and expanding 6th. This is welcome news in the community as our waitlists for 6th grade tell us there is an unmet demand for ASA education in our communities. ASA students come from all over the valley, and our main recruiting tool for the past 13 years has been word of mouth. Because we are offering a new grade level next year we are actively recruiting new students. Our main target market is youth arts organizations - families already invested in the arts - and elementary schools which end in the 4th grade. Your help would be greatly appreciated. If you have contacts or organizations which might link us to interested families, please let us know and volunteer to bring some of our materials to those contacts. We have posters and postcards available for you to pick up - just let Ms. Maline know what you need. Sara Maline • maline@goasa.org
Be One Bring One breakfastsDiane Legge, Development Director Everyone can help by inviting any interested contacts for our expanded 5th & 6th grades to our Be One Bring One breakfasts on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. In the past, these events have generated interest and excitement about ASA's missions and plans for growth among the attendees. Our next event is December 17th at 8:10 am and January 21st will be the next available opportunity after that. Please let Diane Legge, Director of Development, know if you will be inviting a guest to attend. Diane Legge • legge@goasa.org

ASA's annual Disneyland TripIt's that time of year again. ASA's annual Disneyland Trip will be Friday, January 16 - 18, 2009. ASA has ordered three 50 passenger buses. When those are filled, we will begin a waiting list and order a fourth bus if we have enough participants. For those new to ASA, this is an annual trip to Disneyland, located in Anaheim, CA. This trip is designed for middle school students, but high school students are welcome to attend. Registration will close on Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Students board the bus and head out on Friday, January 16th and drive through the night. We will stop once on the way for a brief rest and food then continue to Classic Denny's in Anaheim for breakfast. Upon arrival at the park, students must have a buddy at all times. There will be chaperones available the entire day in a predetermined area and also designated check in times. We meet as a group at 10:30 to load the buses and arrive back in Phoenix on Sunday, January 18th between 5:30 and 6:30 am. The cost for the trip is $140.00. Spaces fill up quickly. Please download the form and have it notarized. Payment can be made online or in person. Please note that this is a non refundable purchase. Anyone who is unable to attend after payment has been made, will contact the office and the person next on waiting list will be offered spot and therefore make payment directly to you.
