Alex Ritson  ~  9th Grade English

Alexandra Ritson was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan and grew up in various parts of Michigan, but spent most of her middle and high school years in and around Grand Rapids, Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and double majored in English and Spanish with a minor in Theatre. Ms. Ritson spent a year abroad in Seville, Spain and she loves traveling. After teaching 10th grade English and tutoring 3rd-4th grade students for a year in Detroit, Michigan, Ms. Ritson joined the Teach for America program and taught 7th and 8th grade English and History at Teleos Preparatory Academy. She earned her Master's of Education from Arizona State University last spring and is certified in Secondary English (6th-12th) with an SEI endorsement. This is her first year at Arizona School for the Arts and she is overjoyed to be part of such a wonderful school and faculty. Ms. Ritson is extremely passionate about education, literature, theatre, and social justice.
